Primary gas insulated switchgear (IEC)
Flexible combination, reliability, availability and economy are the attributes that make it easy for our clients in industry and utilities to decide in favor of primary gas insulated switchgear products from the ZX series. Together with complete conventional solutions, the use of digital protection and control technology, sensor systems and plug-in connections make ZX systems fit for the future.
Secondary gas insulated switchgear (IEC)
Secondary gas insulated switchgear has been subject to a significant developments in the past 20 years, resulting in increased functionality and smaller dimensions. ABB’s Ring Main Units (RMUs) and secondary switchgear are prepared for the use in future distribution grids and designed for use in various applications such as compact secondary substations, light industry, renewables or infrastructure.
Gas-insulated compact switchgear SafePlus for ANSI markets
Medium voltage (MV) compact SF6-insulated switchgear for secondary distribution up to 40.5 kV, 630A
For applications requiring ANSI switchgear, ABB has a full line of metal-clad, non arc-resistant switchgear available. For arc-resistant applications, ABB’s famous SafeGear® line features ratings up to 4000 A, 63 kA at 5 and 15 kV with the smallest footprint available in the industry.
SecoGear* Metal Clad Switchgear rated for 5kV – 15kV applications, 1200A – 2000A and up to 40kA short circuit rating, and is designed to house GE’s SecoVac embedded pole vacuum circuit breakers.
Projects with tight space constraints will benefit greatly from ReliaGear® ND, ABB’s narrow-design platform, which features a 26-inch wide, two-high, stacked breaker frame design at 5 and 15 kV. Standard metal-clad switchgear is offered with the Advance® platform featuring current ratings up to 63kA and 4000A.
UniGear primary switchgear (IEC)
The UniGear family of IEC switchgear and motor control centers for primary distribution offer a unique opportunity by freely combining different types of panels (UniGear ZS1, UniGear 550, UniGear 500R and UniGear MCC) in to the same switchgear, giving the highest flexibility while optimizing footprint. The new intelligent UniGear Digital solution maximizes benefits by using sensors and IEC 61850 based technologies.
UniSec secondary switchgear (IEC)
For secondary applications, the highly innovative UniSec range of IEC switchgear offers standardized modules and panels with fused switch-disconnectors and circuit breakers, also with dedicated Smart Grid solutions.
